The CityLabs team have so far connected with over 70 SMEs in the region and provided valuable business and technical support, as well as forming research collaborations. Across all categories of awards, SMEs who have engaged with CityLABS were well represented. The CityLabs Innovation Award was won by LivingWell at Home. Emma Luddington and the team at LWAH have engaged in the UrbanBusiness Lab programme to help them better understand the customer profile of their service users. KMi technical support has enabled the development of new products to market that provide home owners with incremental plans for living well at home as they age. LWAH and KMI have been engaged in developing research project proposals and seeking collaboration with large corporate organisations to better understand the benefits of planning for an ageing population.
The recent Biztech BrightSparc Awards for innovation in the SEMLEP region included a special CityLABS award.
The award finalists hotly contesting for the winning position included Arthur Ellis Mental Health Support, Brits Energy, Digitwell Solutions and Techbrain Consultancy.
